The Lunar New Year, eagerly anticipated by the Chinese community worldwide, becomes a very special moment. In Indonesia, the celebration of the Lunar New Year is not just about honoring cultural wealth and traditions but also a time to share happiness with others.
The Indonesian Chinese Women’s Brotherhood (Perwanti) PSMTI Central recognizes the importance of social values and humanity in this celebration. Therefore, welcoming the Year of the Dragon 2575/2024, Perwanti sincerely distributed 160 groceries packages and red envelopes to the community.
The distribution of groceries took place at the Multipurpose Hall of Bodhisatta Buddhist Centre (BBC) on Jl. Kampung Melayu, Teluknaga, Tangerang, Banten, on Tuesday (06/02/2024).
Present at the event were, among others, the Daily Chairperson of ERWANTI PSMTI Central, Idayani Oesman, the Advisory Board of Perwanti PSMTI Central, Abraham Rudy, the Honorary Council of PSMTI Central, Sudarmono, the Vice Chairman (WKU) of Perwanti PSMTI Central in the Social Department, Helga Abraham, and the board members of PERWANTI.
Recipients of the groceries packages consisted of the elderly, underprivileged residents in Teluknaga District, and school workers celebrating the Lunar New Year.
The distribution of groceries began with a symbolic presentation to five individuals. Subsequently, the distribution was carried out comprehensively to the registered residents. The recipients queued up orderly to receive the groceries packages and red envelopes, ensuring the smooth and successful flow of the event.
The Daily Chairperson of Perwanti PSMTI Central, Idayani Oesman, stated that Perwanti, in carrying out its organizational functions, always adheres to the motto “We Care, We Share.” Therefore, the distribution of groceries packages is a manifestation of this motto.
“As the Lunar New Year approaches, we at Perwanti PSMTI Central felt compelled to share. We want to give back the blessings we have received so that others can experience them. Today, we are sharing, in line with our motto. We care, we share,” said Idayani.
According to Idayani, Perwanti’s assistance will not stop at distributing groceries packages. If there are no obstacles, Perwanti plans to assist in renovating the Bodhisatta school under the auspices of the Pannadhika Bodhisatta Foundation.
“We have held several events here, and we see that the school here needs improvement. Perhaps in the future, we will renovate these classrooms or add new ones because currently, they only go up to junior high school, and there is no senior high school. Maybe those who hear this can join hands to build this school,” added Idayani.
On this occasion, the Advisory Board of Perwanti PSMTI Central, Abraham Rudy, extended greetings for the Lunar New Year of 2575/2024.
“Happy Lunar New Year. In this Year of the Dragon, may we be able to share with the community, and may peace and prosperity bless everyone abundantly,” expressed Abraham.
Meanwhile, the Chairman of the Pannadhika Bodhisatta BBC Foundation, Bhante Anando Aggadipo, expressed gratitude to Perwanti for providing groceries packages and red envelopes to the community. In appreciation of this kindness, Bhante Anando prayed for the well-being and health of the Perwanti organizers.
“We all express our sincere gratitude for today’s distribution of groceries and red envelopes to celebrate the Lunar New Year. With faith in the Almighty, may the donors and their families, as well as those receiving assistance, have good health, harmonious families, and success both spiritually and worldly,” stated Bhante Anando.
